In this pathway, you will work on a year long project of your choice.You will need to outline your proposed project (a collection of short stories, poems, a script, extracts from a longer fiction, creative non-fiction or life writing piece) briefly in your application.The campus-based courses are led by an experienced team of professional writers who have been widely published and who have won many literary awards: Jenn Ashworth, Paul Farley, George Green, Tajinder Hayer, Zoe Lambert, Graham Mort, Eoghan Walls and (as Visiting Distinguished Professors) Paul Muldoon and Benoit Peeters.

We warmly welcome you to the subject of Creative Writing.

You will be joining a vibrant and lively community of readers and writers, learning your craft from experienced practising authors and sharing your ideas through critique of your work and others.

Our programme offers you a rigorous and inspiring study of Literature while Creative Writing workshops, lectures and readings help you develop your own writing.

In addition to the core English Literature modules, your degree includes an Introduction to Creative Writing in the first year, an intermediary workshop in the second year, and an advanced workshop in the final year.

In your final term of each year, you will study both collaboratively and independently to complete a portfolio to be submitted for assessment.
